The House of Creative Learning is 20 this year! Look out for a special concert with past and present teachers and students in the winter.

Lisa Fox is coming on board to do a wonderful music experience program for small groups of little people. She is taking enrolments now so get in before it books out. She is also doing some one on one lessons in performing which should appeal to all the young people wanting to get out there and give performing a go

Niccy Pallant is coming to do a book making workshop on the 25th/26th of January. Dont miss this opportunity to learn some very cool book making skills and end up with a beautifully finished book. Enrol on the studio xxvi website or call her direct.

Heidi Milu is joining us to run crafting classes for all ages and special sessions for the little ones based on her experience as a Waldorf playgroup leader. These will be nourishing sessions of play, craft, music and making, aimed at the needs of children aged between 18 months and 3 years. She will also be running craft sessions for older children as well. Her bookings are now open. I can highly recommend these sessions.

Term 1 Newsletter 2022

Welcome back everyone and a warm welcome to all new students and their families. I hope that you have had a good holiday that wasn’t too disrupted by covid. The start to the term certainly is crazy enough, with teachers starting music tuition from week one, two, three, four or five! Hopefully we will feel some normality soon and settle in to some good music. Please use common sense re attendance, if you are sick, DO NOT enter the house in respect for everyone’s well being. It is also no longer a requirement to sign in. A few changes this term. Jean flew off to Adelaide, best wishes for her new endeavours and Paul moved out and up the road! We will still collaborate with him if we ever get to have a concert! Aysha King comes back on board after some mat leave and Johnny has gone out the back so he can have some more room for his drum kits and guitars. Congratulations to the exam students, you all did really well and I look forward to everyone stepping up to the next level this year. Practical exams will probably be video again at the end of the year and there are two sittings for theory, May and Nov. Niccy Pallant is still running all kinds of art workshops each month. She will be back on Feb 12th for Sumi-E and decorative tile painting. niccypallant@gmail.com

Term One 2021

Hello everyone!
Welcome to the new year. Here’s hoping it is one 8illed with good health and good learning without too many interruptions! We have made the house a covid safe environment and are asking all adults to sign in on arrival. Please be mindful of gathering in the hallway too and keeping a respectful distance.

NEW TEACHER ART ART ART

We are very lucky to have Nicky Pallant from Studio XXIV going to frequent the house and offer workshops over the school holidays. Throughout January she has been offering some really different art workshops ,including printing with light, clay work and sacred geometry drawing. They have been wonderful. Let us know if you would like to do something speci8ic as she is very skilled in many areas and can tailor the workshops to what you want to do.

EXAMS

We will be holding exams again and in the event of any covid lockdowns they will be offered as video exams as before but the technical work will be included. More on that to come as we work out how they can be offered.

PERFORMANCES

We have been offered the opportunity for some small scale performances in the Anglican church by the post of8ice. This may be a better option than planning for a large recital in the theatre. The building has incredible acoustics too so will be a lovely place to give students an opportunity to perform. We may look at the end of each term doing something on a small scale.

Term Four 2020

Here we are at term four. Many students are gearing up for their video exams. Keep practicing whether it be for exams or school assessments. You are nearly there!
Theory exams are on wed 21st of October at the house at 9 am. I will be invigilating for these.
Good luck to everyone as you complete your exams and reach your bench marks for the year’s work. It has certainly been a challenging year for many.

END OF YEAR PARTY

We have decided not to hold an end of year party this year and hopefully we will be able to think about concerts and gatherings in 2021.

RESUMING TEACHING

After having most of this year off I am resuming teaching and are looking forward to working with students once again. I am also happy to run the Little Larkspurs program for young children should there be enough interest.

Term Three - 2020

Hi everyone! Welcome to term three. My how the year is flying by. There has been so much uncertainty and rapid change, it’s like trying to keep your hat on in the wind! I hope that families are feeling more settled and are looking forward to solid learning programs for their children to partake in.

WARM WELCOME AND RETURN

We are very fortunate that Leah Stuart-Douglas has returned to us and is offering some exciting new programs as well as teaching piano and voice.

ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS

Leah will be running an early years education program for small groups which includes music, art and nature play. Full of creative endeavours for children between 3-6 years old. She will also be doing a specialised program for children with disabilities.

ART ART ART

After school art is back for 6 years and up!

EXAMS

At this stage we are hopeful that an examiner will be able to come to the house the beginning of December. If there are any changes to lock downs across the states then all exams will be videoed. There has been a positive response to this through series one. Theory exams will still take place on the scheduled date unless there is a lockdown and then they will then be done in the home with parents invigilating. So either way they will go ahead so keep students practicing! By now your teachers should have shown you the new on line process for enrolment and payment which makes things much easier for everyone all the way round.

The closing date has been extended to August 17th.

NEW WEBSITE

Ari has been busy updating the website. Check it out!
