‘I Play Ukulele’
ANZCA’s Ukulele Syllabus – written by our own Lesley Gentilin and John Murray. This highly recommended series has been developed for teachers, leaders of group, orchestras, school music educators and parents of children learning the Ukulele. “I Play Ukulele” has been written to teach children and adults the fundamentals of reading music, whilst developing a good solid technique for playing the ukulele.
This series is designed so that good techniques are learnt for strumming, playing melody and developing finger picking - right from the very beginning. This book will be invaluable in the classroom for teachers wanting to use sound techniques. This syllabus allows those students who are keen to sit for examinations and receive a recognised certificate.
“I Play Ukulele” includes a backing CD where all pieces are demonstrate with and without the part designated for the student to play. Co -author John Murray has also put everything on the ANZCA you-tube channel so that a good look can be had to achieve correct positioning of the hands.
This series is available from The House of Creative Learning, online and direct from the ANZCA office in Melbourne.
