Aysha King

I have grown up with music being an integral way of life for my family, there was no escaping it really! I began playing the piano when I was 8 years old and would consider it to be the instrument I am most passionate about. I first began teaching at the House in 2008, tutoring just a few students after school. From there I have increased to working three days a week and can offer piano, beginner voice and woodwind, including recorder and flute.

I am studying the ANZCA Music Examination syllabus and can offer this formal training to students.

I have had a lot of experience working with children and during year 12 I also undertook a traineeship at the Poonindie Early Childhood Centre whilst completing my Certificate III in Children’s Services.

Throughout school I performed various instruments in the Primary School Band, the High School Band and the St Joseph’s Stage Band gaining valuable ensemble experience. During year 12 I also studied music and played piano in the High School Jazz Band. As a part of the Jazz Band she I moderated on several performances and also competed in the Generations in Jazz competition in Mt Gambier.

I hope to encourage both children and adults to realise the values and benefits of music, as they unleash their creativity and potential.
