Born and raised in Port Lincoln, I have been lucky enough to return home after some time in Perth, WA where I completed my Bachelor of Music in Jazz Voice at WAAPA (Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts) in 2018. Whilst in Perth, I engaged in anything and everything possible that was music-related; including tutoring, being a part of and running choirs and a cappella groups, performing with a diverse range of musicians and as a soloist, engaging in pop and rock as well as jazz, latin, and funk. I tried a lot of things. I found an intense passion for the art of songwriting and composing, as well as a love for teaching one on one or small groups, these were the two activities I absolutely lost track of time with and just loved being able to do.
I started guitar with Lesley Gentilin at age 10, which opened me up to all sorts of other possibilities. From there I began playing bass under Stephen Campbell at the Port Lincoln High School and was involved in the concert and jazz bands. During my high school years, I formed a pop/rock band with friends where we often swapped instruments and were all encouraged to sing. Just a taste of singing and I couldn’t go back! I have played with other well known Port Lincoln musicians since and as a soloist. I am actively present in the music industry and continue to perform, write, record music, and play with other musicians.
I am well equipped to teach advanced singing, beginner piano & beginner guitar and am eager to join students of any age on their musical journey. I firmly believe in the benefits of music and it’s ability to aid in brain development, personal development and the nourishment the soul at the same time.
